AI is not growing exponentially. It's a logarithmic growth curve. Also there are scaling laws applied to all physical systems. There is no reason to think that AI will defy this fundamental law of physics. Mind I don't mean to say that it isn't or won't improve, but the idea that we're on the precipice of AGI just isn't realistic.
