I've hired perhaps a hundred developers in my career, and interviewed and rejected many times more candidates. Some of these candidates have claimed to have ten years of professional experience and masters degrees in CS... but five minutes into an interview and it's apparent they know less than the guy being interviewed in this video. I usually ask candidates to pick a topic they feel they understand, that they've worked with recently to explain to me... and most can't.
I've always wondered how they graduated; this was all happening decades before ChatGPT so you can't blame that. I have to write it off to corruption in South Asia. Someone else must have sat their exams, or they must have purchased their degrees and references wholesale. I have no other explanation and it's puzzled me for years.
