Silicon valley supports whoever has the power and money. They are amoral, soulless ghouls. These companies are so massively over leveraged they will do anything to survive and win even if it destroys the planet and everyone on it.
Nobody asked for this, nobody wants it. Why do so few ppl get to choose this for the whole world? The benefits from AI could just as easily come from properly funding medical research etc. and have specific AI’s that ONLY focus on the problem they are created for. The companies could choose this but they won’t. It is yet another global arms race.
