If One technological improvement destroys the entire film or entertainment industry’s then maybe the industry itself has some bigger internal issues and is not a strong or resilient as people once thought it was. Mind you when people start realizing how amazing Ai actually is for story telling I think with creative humans it will actually revolutionize entertainment and in a lot of ways it takes the power away from major studios and gives it to individuals with visions that without it might not ever be able to make a movie or afford to create something. But on the point they’re making about “an existential crisis” that’s a common theme when something new pops up, Back in the day they thought color grading film would be the end of cinema, or the advent of sound would be the end of cinema, or the change from vhs to dvd or streaming would be the end of cinema it’s all bullshit…a small group of ultra rich people dont want normal people to now have the technology and ability to rival them, it’s a smear campaign to protect their assets and profit margins…
