The populace has clearly learned nothing from the lessons we've recieved from the "war on drugs". To enact these proposals for deepfakes would have similar (likely worse) unintended consequences we would have to grapple with as a global society. I don't give a damn about some rich person in the 1st world having a "tarnished reputation" because of this. And for those who are poor or "marginalized" that end up victims of this...this is really some of the least of their problems. Grow some calluses.
