Well just like the monkey selfies, the ai has no copyright, and to take it another step, AI art should not even be considered intellectual property. The other option would be for the AI company to own the copyright, or the person that mashed keys into the prompt. It should not be considered intellectual property and is just a kinda cool tool to see what the culmination of data from online sources consolidated into an image looks like. Apart from that, it should have no real legal grounds to be monetized or maybe even owned.
