I’ll be totally honest (as a mediocre artist myself) I do not see where the AI art hate is coming from. It’s a tool like a computer. To me, it’d be like da Vinci complaining he had to understand anatomy from the ground up while we can look up reference images on Google images. It serves a purpose in some areas and doesn’t serve a good purpose in others. I’m convinced artists just dislike the competition from AI and rather than push themselves to create unique art thats difficult to express via words, it’s simpler to complain about AI art which is still extremely limited. I know I’m gonna get hate but I think artists should understand that art isnt all about emotions or pure subjectivity. AI can be good for a company that needs consistent art fast and cheaply. And humans can be great for more dynamic, abstract, or outright rule breaking forms of art thats unique and takes time. It’s complicated but the artists aren’t making great arguments which is why I think outside the art community, no one takes their complaints seriously.
