Wow, this has to be one of the most mature and well-regarded views on AI art. I think the usage of AI in art has tremendous potential, and it really would be great, as you said, in a perfect world, which is not one we live in. I've been wondering on what happens when an AI does eventually create great stories – I still think there'd be something missing. I remember reading a comment earlier that a future AI could generate a 5 season, 22 episode, amazing plotline with no plot holes or problems. There's something oddly depressing about that, even if there is conventionally 'good art'.
I hope the future paves the way for more human connection, over less. Even if it's imperfect, as long as I can share it with someone, and talk about it with someone, that's worth it.
