Also consider: In the book Ender's Game, as in the movie, Ender plays some games on his tablet. That's not a sentient AI, but in the next couple of books those games are nonetheless part of the memory of a sentient AI, one that considers Ender her best friend. Be nice to the non-feeling AIs today; how you treat them will be part of their memories when they do develop feelings.
