If Google and Facebook each had a general purpose AI wouldn't they each demand of their AI.... "do better than the competition... we MUST win". No one would get in the middle and say "... but I know more than AI so I will retain all major decisions". And really... you imagine military industrial complexes being less competitive? Not motivated to secretly step around all bans and governance? Yeh... this will not end well. Fundamental human (mostly MALE) greed will be the end of us all.
