Geoffrey Hinton, the guy who predicted in 2016 that we should stop training radiologists because AI would replace them all by 2021. Yeah that prediction really aged well.
I cannot stand the guy and his ridiculous fear mongering. His biggest achievement was to accidentally stumble over the discovery that GPUs were able to overcome the processing limitations of CPUs when it comes to neural networks. And I’m not really sure it was really him that discovered this or his nerdy PhD students.
