AI art is the "wheelchair" of the creatively impaired and the poor of spirit; Of the person who won't learn, even though they're of otherwise sound mind and body. They have no patience, they crave instant satisfaction, and will pick any flawed generated image to fill that void. The wheelchair might be an apt description for it, but not in the way they intended. It's apt in that they, the prompters, are so mentally handicapped by the instant gratification society we live in that they don't even have the patience to pick up a pencil and doodle.
This is not what AI was supposed to be. It was supposed to be a tool that took care of and automated tedious, repetitive and time-consuming busywork, so that people would have more free time to work on themselves, on cultural and spiritual pursuits. But that's late-stage capitalism for you. If normal people don't have enough money to live, the capitalists give more money to the 1%. It's downright insidious. It's like peddling a medicine that purports to help you stop smoking, but in reality only gives you lung cancer. I
