I think that white collar workers, especially politicians, are actually the ones most at risk of being replaced by AI. They know it too, which is why they’re trying to convince us to fear or resist the rise of this technology. It’s easier for them to make it seem like AI threatens everyday people, when in reality, it’s their own positions of power, influence, and control that are on the line. Most manual or creative jobs will still require a human touch, but tasks like policy analysis, data interpretation, financial planning, and even public communication can easily be automated. So while they frame AI as a danger to workers, what they’re really doing is protecting their own relevance and authority in a world that’s rapidly evolving beyond them.
