Interesting analysis taken from the Gartner Hype Cycle. Regarding AI, I believe we are in the "Peak of Inflated Expectations", maybe starting to slide into the "Trough of Disillusionment". We are living in a world where business leaders are fascinated by the power of AI, obviously with one single expectation....a huge $ sign in front of them.....how they can cut costs, cut jobs, fire people, replace them with AI ....and make the shareholders happier.
Meanwhile, a normal worker is feeling scared, confused, and uncertain about their future. Soon, we will be reaching the bottom of the "Trough of Disillusionment". They will realise that even though AI is good for certain tasks, particularly involving repetitive tasks, it fails in areas such as negotiations, roadmaps, and shaping our future.
