Art has intent of an artist. AI art is a technology to selectively average images. Valuing human art is saying "I value human element here specifically ". Giving AI art even the the SAME credit is saying "I equate human aspect of art to a mindless mess". I genuinely despise that pathetic state of mind.
And not at all being self contradictory, i want us artists to express interest in using AI somehow to benefit our work and advocating for development in ways we will not simply tolerate, but benefit. This last part is probably impossible without having this initial more unethical period to simply test how it can work in principle and get models tuned, At last contradicting myself to a full 360, we should fight now and in years to come, not to be simply used by a human creation of AI but to steer it towards being helpful because our reaction as a community is precisely that trigger that says "yes, time to get it under control and that stage of development has done its job"
