I understand your support of "real" artists but no one stood up for "real" artists when CGI was replacing them. There is no conceptual difference between the adoption of CG vs AI. Both are seen as "progress". Bullying emerging artists for experimenting with AI is the work of a lazy elitist not someone willing to support artists in whatever stage they are in. There have been plenty of famous or "real" artists who could not draw and Japan has so far adopted a "no rules" policy on AI. Who are you defending? Being discouraged and feeling like your art is not good enough is part of an artistic life. It's clear that the copywrite rules are against the simple output prompt as finished work and that if AI is used, it is done so in the process of making a product. No one disagrees that stealing is bad, but no one is upset that CG artists can create entire movies without a single actor and those actor's images or impetus can be used without permission. Just because an artist isn't using AI doesn't mean that the computer isn't doing most of the work. Use AI, use it well.
