as a tech person and artist, AI image generation and just LLMs in general are absolutely terrible
they require horribly high amount of compute and also power, you need to dedicate whole datacenters to AI crap to get anything decent, and that takes kilo to megawatts of power per datacenter, it's horribly inefficient and will never pay itself back really due to the cost of the hardware and power and also labor work because you need people to install systems to each server and put them in the rack, you need to pay people to take care of the air conditioning that cools down that whole giant warehouse basically full of computers, you need to pay for the giant warehouse too! lol
it's really terrible and makes no sense
