AI doesn't yet know that hands have four fingers and a thumb, nor does it know anything else about anatomy. It is just trying to approach something that its neural-net training thinks is correct, with about the same real intelligence as a photoshop filter algorithm. The fear from real artists makes me laugh a lot, though. Physical art will always have increasing value. Digital artists will need to adapt, or go the way of the buggy-whip and stone-arrowhead craftsmen. Which is to say Digital artists will use AI within their apps to produce more, better artwork, faster. The AI isn't even at that point, yet, though. Mainly, it's good for thumbnails, avatar images, and inspiration.
