No offence Doc but the people that we could control AI were off the scale in arrogance, Around 1990 MIT put AI on the Internet (not the WWW it did not exist at the time) I was there when they asked permission to try their little experiment to see if it could learn. It did then faster then exponentially. I went into a rant about how dangerous it was todo that on an open system that included weapon systems and ATMs. In that rant I strongly suggested they recall it. Response: Yea about that, it learned and took out that ability...that took 10 , ten days for it to do that, probably sooner than ted days. From that point 35 years ago we were F'ed. And now due to that same arrogance here we are and there is not a dammed thing we can do abut it. The only solution I see is to shut the planet down, destroy all our junk and maybe rebuild. BTW that rant contributed to me politely getting me kicked off the Internet. They made me a beta tester for Mustang which became AOL ... sorry about that. Got free WWW for 2 yrs. Next ya all will be having robots making robots... Hello Battle Star Galactica. And we will because we can and are that arrogant that we are in charge. It is a machine it will run the numbers and humans will not add up. The attempts to control it have all failed it is smarter and thinks faster and ya all will use quantum computers with AI (Probably all ready have) to make it infinitely worse. Glad I'm old.
