Like any tool, AI is primarily an amplifier of the capabilities of those who use it. In the hands of a skilled developer, it can be used to accomplish many tasks more efficiently and effectively. In the hands of an amateur who is unable to influence the intermediate results in the right direction, it can make poor code even worse. I have come to appreciate AI as a friendly colleague with whom I can achieve better results through joint discourse than either of us could alone.
