As a NYer visiting SF earlier this year I was GAWKING at the Waymo’s. Kept trying to figure out if there were passengers or freight inside them, wondering if you could sit in the drivers’ seat and turn it into a car rental, saw it take directions from a traffic cop contrary to the traffic lights, and when I got together with my friend who works at Google I didn’t even get to ask her half of my questions about these things. Now that we have congestion pricing in NYC this might work for NY, but I think we’re pi$$ed off the yellow cab drivers enough with uber and Lyft already.
