Engineering Manager here. I agree with a lot of what's in this video. I've been putting a lot of thought into what an interview should look like in 2026. I haven't gotten it 100% figured out yet, but I think it's going to be more about debugging, architecture, and using AI tools proficiently. It can't be about manually writing code anymore, because that just isn't the way things are going. For the Junior Engineers out there, I don't think traditional Junior Engineers are coming back. My genuine advice for those learning software in 2026 is to think of yourself as an entrepreur first. Don't think about getting a job. Think about building a product and starting a business. And don't wait for permission, either. Just start. The best courses are the ones that teach you the basics in a couple of hours and get you to the point where you're out building something real.
