I am on my school's curriculum council, and we have this exact issue. People WILL use AI, whether we like it or not. And so we can either try and iron fist it downward and create a near black market of AI services, OR we can rethink the curriculum and the role that teachers play. It's a typical thing to say, but we need to make people WANT to learn, and WANT to do it well. We can no longer have teachers stand there, and regurgitate some information to expect students to take it in. The role of a teacher is now becoming much more coaching than teaching. Students use AI for ultra-personalized learning, teachers are there to still fact check it and make sure that the students don't just go "write me X on Y", but more akin to "My teacher told me that X and Y were responsible for Z, but I just can't comprehend how that is possible. Could show me how X and Y were responsible?" Will this fix it 100%? No. But it never was air tight to begin with. People have cheated throughout history, but it's when a teacher makes a student excited to learn and want to learn that you see them quit cheating
