Want to emphasize saying "maybe another paper will solve hallucinations in AI" is like saying "maybe another random drug trial will cure cancer".
Like it's possible but the gravity of that happening is so breathtakingly unlikely. There's a really big reason why machine learning was in its infancy up until transformer architecture. And we still don't even fully know why GPTs have such amazing emergent intelligence. A new architecture to overthrow this hugely flawed technology is certainly possible but I really really think it's unwise to hold out for it.
