Tesla successfully persuaded a German Court to allow them to use the term autopilot, equating it to autopilot on an aircraft which maintains speed and heading but relies on the pilot to stop the plane crashing into the ground or other planes. My car has cruise control so I'm halfway to having autopilot. What Tesla is doing is trying to get regulators to lower the bar as to how 'autopilot' or 'full-self-driving' is defined.
