Also the cars vs horses argument is silly because cars are themselves inferior (less safe, less efficient, more environmentally destructive, etc) to trains which were around long before cars. It’s almost like not all technological advancement is all that innovative or even good.
Also interesting is the point about how photography didn’t replace traditional painting but instead coexisted with painting as a separate craft. If AI slop and real art were to coexist in such a way there would be literally no audience for it, since the majority of viewers of AI generated content are either tricked into viewing it or are themselves bad actors.
