Does he know that stories are art. His book is a form of art. Why ask him to write a 2nd book when we can have AI do it for us? Why give him the opportunity to gain fame or fortune from a book he did not create. Yes the algorithm used his ideas and settings, but it was not him who wrote it. It was not him who spent time proof reading or editing small parts of sentences. This new book is not his property, even if it resembles his first book. It will be the property of the shmuck who used AI to create it before he does. And from his perspective, there's nothing wrong with that.
