C-suite think they can replace people with "Ai" LLM's in their current state. They are very wrong and there were a couple of companies who tried mass layoffs, implemented it and found out they were very wrong and spent a huge sum of money and time trying to rehire people. There is no doubt they are very useful tools for specific tasks but they have been massively oversold and overhyped by companies trying to justify their burn rate into these systems. Just look at any of the current press releases from AI companies - most of it is just fluff. We have seen these hype trains many times before, and when it comes down to it this current iteration will falter and we will get something more useful out of the ashes. Companies going all in on this and firing entry level staff are shooting themselves in the foot, and mid - high level engineers and devs will just end up doing more work. Google and Microsoft have gone the direction of trying to force their systems upon their customers despite them not really wanting it, and that is pretty much just a ploy to show "how many users have it" as a stock holder metric. If we ever get true AGI then we are all done for because humans are not and will not be ready for that.
