I think just you on your own using ai to make images for fun hurts no one and people should freak out about that. But trying to make money or win competitions with it should not be allowed (unless they make a separate competition like “who can type in a prompt that gives you the best image of what we are looking for” or something but not regular art competitions) there was a person i saw trend on a subreddit who just asked for thoughts on a character they made. They got made fun of cause they used ai to generate their character. This was not warranted. They didnt say “i made this art piece” they said “thoughts on this character i made” they made the character and used the ai to show it off and people just went off on them for it
