I think the problem is OpenAI as a company is using other people’s work as the basis for the product they are selling to generate content. It be like if I took someone’s logo or art adding one thing to it and then selling it on shirts. Or similarly if you made a new invention that used previously patented tech and didn’t license the patents needed for your tech before selling the product. You’d be sued in a heart beat. ChatGPT is using pre-existing and trademark works to generate its own facsimile to them.
