Why are people surprised that AI will blackmail or kill if it furthers its goals? Has anyone told the AI about good and evil, the law and ethics?
Even people aren’t expected to know right from wrong until they reach a certain age and maturity. If you hand a toddler a magic button that will make the person stopping them from getting more candy disappear don’t you think that they will press it?
