Self driving cars will never be able to 100% eliminate automobile accidents because no matter how smart your car is no no matter how many safety protocols you engineer into it you cannot engineer or fix the dumb owner who hasn’t replaced their brake pads because they thought regenerative generative breaking meant the brake pads grow back and another person who just stopped maintaining their car because they thought it would do it by itself because it already drove itself
