I am so tired of the "but China" argument. Its the US who started the race and its the US who just passed legislation to not regulate AI for 10 years which is completely insane. Countries need to pass a mutual agreement not to develope certain things. In addition, I am neither American nor Chinese and for me American AI is way scarier than chinese. Because the US lets its companies run wild without any consequences while China at least has the capability and will to regulate them. Strong governments can be scary and very dangerous but so are unregulated private companies.
