The boss in my IT company has been consistently trying to push for breakthroughs with AI despite the fact everybody, including the boss, knows that AI does not work for the customers we specifically face.
This is because the management/board of our customers are looking for anything with the AI label on it. If AI is not written on it, they won't even listen to our sales pitch. However, most of our partners and customers have reported that AI adoption has been very shallow, and they are almost always just pilot programs participated by few people because AI cannot get enough real work done to justify the cost for mass adoption.
Everyone is just forced to play this AI game or risk falling behind when someone finally finds something that actually work.
Everyone in this cycle suffers.
