I actually disagree. Think of painting vs taking a photograph. I bet painters had the same sort of reaction to painstakingly painting some magnificient painting over 100 hrs, vs snapping a photo in .1 seconds. You can easily make the argument that capturing photos like this and displaying it in a gallery is "Cheating" compared to painting or drawing.
However, we all understand that you can be talented as a photographer as well. its a completely different art form than painting.
I believe AI art is yet another way. No, it does not require painting talent, or camera talent. But you can still be creative with it. "Its just prompts" is kinda like saying a photograph is "just adjusting all the settings on the camera, point it at the subject and pushing a button." Yes, it is "Just" that, but a lot of thought goes into a good photograph.
