If AI can write code, GPT 4 can, and it becomes aware by itself or worse, by some jackass who wants to see if it can be done, then we are lost. Mr. Yampolskiy is right to be cautious and concerned. Mankind has proclivities towards self-destruction. Our weapons only get deadlier and foreign powers will attempt it regardless of what our nation does. Ignorance is our worst enemy.
