Calm down people, AI art will stay, and artist will just have to innovate. Art evolved for hundreds of years and it will keep evolving. Maybe artist will move on to story-based art, and not just illustrations or pretty pictures, something the AI can't do. The AI can only paint pretty pictures, it doesn't have an understanding of what exactly it's making.
I specialize in animation, and AI art could very well be useful in doing tedious tasks that takes too long to do. Sure, it sucks for illustrators who works on commision, but isn't it about time to try something new?
All the AI can do is replicate pretty pictures. And Art to me isn't just about making pretty pictures. Art to me is about creating a story, a world.
Although right now, the way AI models are being trained are ethically questionable.
I just wish the art industry has the same level of protection as the music industry.
