So it can spit out an old joke (about Jedis) given an appropriate prompt, and folk think it profound? Jeez. I'd put money on the fact that that joke was in its training data somewhere, particularly given the amount of text they trained the language model with, even if it was in some other context. This thing is simply designed to respond with the most appropriate outputs, in relation to its input prompts. That's not magic. Nor is it sentience. It sure looks pretty clever though. (Same as facial recognition models looked pretty clever when they were new — same with lots of algorithms... that we now take for granted)
