“The people are going to be freed up” um, the people you laid off are going homeless after their unemployment ran out and they were unable to find software engineering jobs. Not to mention the effect of AI on the overall job market — people are struggling to find a job anywhere. So they’re homeless or forced into taking minimum wage jobs—when lucky. Slave wage labor or homeless former employees replaced by AI, with shareholders richer than ever. They should’ve allowed employees to instead go part-time at the same wage rather than letting everyone go while collecting bonuses.
