You knowing that it was made by an AI what makes it boring for you. That is not the same as the image being boring.
When I look at an image that makes me "Whoa" I find value in trying to find out what exactly made me like the image. Regardless whether I know who or what made the image. Even if it is not an artwork it still can be beautiful. Like a landscape can be beautiful. A photo of the same landscape can be beautiful and a painting of the same landscape can be beautiful.
This argument is kind of the same when people went and said "Photography is not art", "3D is not art" "digital painting is not art" There is truth in it but also kind of not.
Art in one hand is a human endeavour but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
The issue with AI is that its goal is to replace people at everything. And that it actually has the potential to do so.
