No one asked me whether or not I cared to drop my passions and abandon my life goals so I could participate in some tech race to insure I can afford to eat in the future. I don't even want to be a millionaire. I don't care about being wealthy, I care about surviving and living a decent middle class life without having to do something morally evil to sustain me. And AI is a moral evil. It's a breach of democracy, a war on our minds and health, our resources, our environment, our water supply, our livelihoods. We didn't ask for the nuclear bomb to be invented either, but none of you up there in your high rise flats give a shit.
