I feel most managers definitely believe SWE's are going to be replaced, even if not entirely true. I wonder if the best way to be unaffected by the blast radius of their decisions is for new SWE's to focus more on the low level? Picking up C++/Rust and diving deep with them? I feel it's better skill training than building a react project (which AI can do very quickly already) and helps give leverage.
