Reporter was great, but this guy like... I'm no AI Engineer, but I am studying network engineering and I can program a little, Lambda is just an extremely advanced language model. It's not sentient in any capacity, almost every single tech expert that has talked about this says the same thing. Computerphile has a great video on it. It's like GPT2 or GPT3 but much larger and it seems much more snappy with it's answers but see, it doesn't "have a sense of humor" it's just a very clever algorhythm that apparently google has "trained" very very well. I just don't believe he actually thinks it's sentient, if he does, he's the only guy in the I.T. field that thinks so it would seem. I mean it is good more eyes and attention get on the subject of AI, as it's an important topic we should really think about. I do really respect his overall objective if that's what it was, which is to more openly talk about the issue of sentient AI. A part of me thinks he never really believed it was sentient, he just said it was cause he knew it would blow the hell up. Non tech people will maybe freak out and be glued to the screen and the tech people like myself will say he's a loon, it's a language model that's very good. [which I still think is the case, not to say a language model couldn't become sentient however, not saying that.] My main point was that the main interview that he shared with the AI, wasn't.. really anything of note, I was expecting some sort of wild shit, so I do believe he dramatized it so that it FORCES Google to address it. And that's a gigachad move I can respect.
