Good idea, but automation isnt gonna completely get rid of jobs as the value capital or machines make can not ever come close to the value labor makes, ubi just paints a picture that capitalism is a way of life and that automation will happen and instead of democratizing those workplaces we gotta suck it up and suffice with the money we get. It also draws away from more pressing issues like food and housing insecurity, if we gave everyone free food we would save 16,239,810,000,000 dollars and if we kept building housing after 2008 our gdp would be 74% higher or around 15 trillion. Both of which will not be solved by a ubi that would have to be paid for by the rich if the automated hell scape people imagine comes to fruition before they leave and so we have to squabble for scraps. What do we do? Buy all farms and make them cooperatives, buy all banks and turn them into credit unions remove the faircloth amendment and change zoning laws and build regulations while taxing land instead of property. It will give everyone an equal opportunity to a long healthy and happy life while increasing the gdp and the chances for entrepreneurs that our society is reliant on.
