I'm amused that people are all butt-hurt about the use of A.I. programs to generate "art." First, most of this stuff is adolescent cartoons and not particularly serious stuff, so who cares. Second, Warhol, Koons, Hirst, Murakami, and even daVinci ALL had other painters execute some or all of their work. So what's the difference? Using a software program rather than 300 of Murakami's "assistants" and passing the resulting work off as their own? Would it improve things if a painter used generative a.i. to produce an image and then projected that image onto a canvas and painted over it (correcting the flaws, hopefully)? Painting and drawing are simply personal hobbies that are an expense, not a significant source of revenue. The only people who make money in the art business are the sellers of art materials.
