disabled artist here 🙋‍♂disability doesn't prevent you from making art. If anything, its one of the biggest inspirations TO make art. the unique struggles we go through, the way we see he world, the way it affects your sense of self- all those things are hard to express in words alone. Some of the best art out there comes from those with disabilities, those that go through hardship. As unfortunate as it is, suffering breeds great art 🤷‍♂ thats why the over-dramtic, depressed artist trope is a thing. Art and music are some of our best and most accessible forms of expression. Besides flat out theft, i think that's honestly one of the worst things about AI art. It's not expressing ANYTHING. It's literally just an image. There's no meaning, or emotion, or story behind it. Just pixels. That's what makes art so special, the unspoken connection between the artist and their art, the viewer and the piece, the viewer and the artist. Every time an artist shows the world something they've made, they're offering a piece of _themselves_ . It's vulnerable, it's genuine, it's healing. There's none of that with AI. i also absolutely hate AI art. the only things I've seen it used for that were morally excusable like reference, inspiration, temporary stand ins- all have pre existing (and better) alternatives. there's genuinely nothing you can get from AI art that you couldn't find with a normal google search or make yourself.
