Because capitalism only incentivizes short term profits, and if some shitty AI startup comes along and promises its product will replace the human workforce and the costs associated with it, corporations will jump on it, regardless of the quality of work it produces. The same guiding principle applies to these AI startups themselves, resulting in enshitification all around. Inevitably, once corporations are faced with the consequences of their poor decisions, the AI bubble will burst, and the cycle will start anew with the next trend that comes up. There is zero incentive for our corporate overlords to care about their workers or their livelihoods when labor unionization is basically non-existent in the present era, so this type of messaging is exactly up their alley. An unfortunate reality which at this rate will never change in any of our lifetimes.
