Sounds like a great idea, with the best of intentions! What could possible go wrong? (Disclaimer: This is a Prediction) Upon the installation of these massive camera networks, stalkers were able to gain access due to poor network security and stalk their victims, causing a 4% increase in stalking related crimes, also, corrupt police and officials used these cameras to enforce traffic and immigration laws despite claiming they wouldn't causing mass outrage! In one city, traffic infraction related tickets went up 45% causing locals to vandalize the cameras or obscure their license plates, additionally on the 4th of july the AI powered sound detection falsely Identifies fireworks causing an overload in the police dispatch causing mass delays for actual calls and finally the cameras AI, not trained for facial recognition, falsely identified innocent people as criminals on the wanted list causing an increase in false arrests.
