I think ai images and other content have and will continue to have their place in the world, but just like factory made products vs. artisan goods there will always be a place for skilled creators. Right now the art world is in upheaval because we don't know what exactly the limits of ai generation will be and how best to utilize it to provide additional tools to artists and make some level of artistry available to the poor and unskilled.
There's a saying that when you want something, there are three kinds of service: good, cheap, and fast, and you can pick two. Ai is looking like it will be cheap and fast. It's the fast food of art. It'll find a niche and become popular and widely available to some extent, but it won't replace quality art.
Every time I have heard of a channel "blowing up" it has meant it went viral/has gained many followers very quickly. That looked like a supportive comment to me, unless the commenter left additional context.
