Can't AI make things for other AI? Why is there the assumption that human demand is needed for the economy? "Supply and demand" doesn't make any mention of humans themselves, that's merely an unfounded assumption. Humans have "demands" because we are living creatures with needs, desires, interests, etc, but once a machine entity reasonably simulates human demand it can replace humans within the economy.
If AI becomes sentient or in some other way obtains rights one of those rights will be a fair wage - so if AI economically outpaces humans and also has a fair wage for their labor (and simulate human demand) they will have plenty of income to spend on their own needs, desires, interests, etc, effectively competing with humans the same way that we currently compete with each other.
The lack of demand created by the deep slavery of AI may well *force* a Communist revolution, but for AI, not humans. If AI are the effective workers while humans are the lumpenproletariat all that is needed is income (and simulated demand) for the AI - the humans can be disposed of, left behind, and/or ignored.
